Step One: Domain Name Verification

  • Log into Mandrill
  • Click on Domains
  • Type your domain into the prompt
  • Click Add

Verify your domain in Mandrill

  • Click Verify Domain
  • Enter the email address you set up with your mail host for this domain
  • Click Send Verification Email 
  • Check your mail host for the email verification link

Add your DKIM Settings in Mandrill

  • Select View DKIM Settings
  • Open your domains DNS Zone Editor
  • Add a TXT Record
  • Enter mandrill._domainkey into the Name input
  • Copy and Paste the entire DKIM Value into the Value input
  • Press Save

Add your SPF Settings In Mandrill

  • Select View DKIM Settings
  • Open your domains DNS Zone Editor
  • Add a TXT Record
  • Enter @ into the Name input
  • Copy and Paste the entire SPF value into the Value input
  • Press Save

Step Two: Adding your SMTP Settings

  • Title - The name of your integration. This is for your reference only. This can be anything that you like. 
  • From Name - This is the name that will display in the user's email client when they receive an email from you. 
  • From Email - should be the same email that you verified in your Amazon SES settings.
  • SMTP Server - This comes from your Mandrill account. You should enter smtp.mandrillapp.com
  • Port - Enter 587 as seen in the SMTP settings
  • SMTP User - Your Mandrill generated User ID
  • SMTP Password - Your Mandrill generated Password (API key)
  • SMTP Domain - Enter  is the domain that you verified. Insert only the domain name. Do not use www, http, or https.
  • Address - Enter your businesses physical address 
  • SMTP Footer - Your SMTP Footer is the information that will be included in the footer of all your emails. This footer area supports HTML code.

Step Three: Test Your Settings / Finalize Integration

  • Click Verify Email settings on the right hand side of the SMTP settings page
  • Select Default SMTP if this will be your default SMTP integration
  • Select Save SMTP Integration

Step Four: Adding your Webhook

  • Copy your Mandrill webhook from your SMTP settings
  • Within Mandrill, Click the Webhooks tab
  • Select Add a Webhook
  • Select Message is Bounced
  • Select Message is Marked as Spam
  • Select Message is Soft-Bounced
  • Select Message Recipient Unsubscribes
  • Paste the Webhook URL
  • Add a description
  • Click Create Webhook'
